The Democratic Leader
A Democratic Leader values listening and collaboration. They provide time and space to team members to create the best possible products and services. The leader encourages team members to share their ideas and opinions and rewards creativity. The leader aims to build consensus through participation. The democratic leadership style is based on the principle that everyone has to agree with the decisions. The style relies more on listening than directing.
The Pacesetting Leader
A Pacesetting Leader is usually an expert in a certain market/niche and aims to get the most from highly motivated employees. These leaders ask many questions from their team members. They use their experience and set high standards of performance for others to follow. Pacesetting leaders have an empowering attitude and create a high standard of excellence by achieving goals themselves, which “sets the bar” for other employees. They expect people to know what to do but will take over if employees are lagging and rescue the situation themselves, if necessary.
The Visionary Leader
A Visionary Leader offers inspiration to one’s team members. The leader makes the team members visualize and dream about the company’s goals and be motivated to achieve them. The leaders understand the vision and relate to it. They help the team see the impossible as possible. They leverage their expertise to gain the respect and credibility necessary to “rally” employees to follow their ideas and plans.
