Cognitive Ability Test

Cognitive Ability Test is the common method used in Saudi Arabia to determine the level of personal competence for the required work. These tests include many areas such as quantitative skill, verbal reasoning skill, Inferential and spatial ability. This article will talk about the Cognitive Ability Test that is used in Saudi Arabia to develop quantitative, Inferential skills and verbal thinking, and will also touch on cognitive abilities in general in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Sections of Cognitive Ability Test :

According to the education and Training evaluation commission in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia, it has identified the components of the test based on a modern scientific theory, the theory of “Cattell–Horn–Carroll” to classify mental abilities. The content of the test consists of four main abilities, namely:

Quantitative ability: Many Saudi companies use Quantitative ability tests in recruitment and personal development. These tests include Mathematics, Statistics, statistical analysis, algebra, and economics. These tests are aimed at determining how well a person is able to cope with numbers, statistical tabulation and statistical analysis, as well as the ability to cope with statistical methods.

It consists of three main sections:

Mathematical operations
Strings of numbers
Interpretation of data

Verbal ability:
Is the ability to understand and effectively use the meanings of words, understand the relationships between them and the meanings contained in a sentence, paragraph or written text.

The verbal ability part is divided into three main sections:

Synonyms and antonyms
Verbal assimilation(paragraphs)
Verbal reasoning (completion of sentences)

Deductive ability:

The ability to think logically by applying the rules of deductive and inductive reasoning to abstract data or information in order to draw conclusions about them.

It consists of two main sections, namely:

Induction
Deduction

Spatial ability:
The ability to visually adapt using images and geometric shapes and the ability to visualize two-dimensional drawings and shapes as three-dimensional objects.

It contains two main sections, namely:

Spatial relationships
Spatial visualization (cubes)

The Targeted Groups of Cognitive Ability Test:

Applicants for administrative positions (whether for appointment or promotion), in accordance with the Human Resources System in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, with the exception of health and education jobs.

Method of registration in the Cognitive Ability Test:

Log in to the official Qiyas website by clicking here.
Fill in your ID number and password, you can also restore the password by clicking on the “Forgot password” button.
Click on the icon. I am not a robot.
After that you can click the login button to log in for your account.
Click on the available tests option to register, at the top of the page.
After that you can select the Cognitive Ability Test option.
Then click on the register icon.
Choose the nearest Qiyas center in order to conduct the test.
After that, choose the right time to perform the test.
Then do the confirmation process of booking information.
Finally, you have to pay the test fees to perform the test according to the status of your registration.

Number of opportunities to Cognitive Ability Test:

The applicant has the right to enter the Test 7 times within 3 years, and the authority has the right to limit registration in some periods to those who have not previously registered for the test, and the eighth test can be entered three years after your first Test.

Validity of the Cognitive Abilities Test:

The validity period of the test is five years from the date of issue of the result.
